新竹縣北埔特產【膨風茶】又名東方美人茶，膨風茶等級依照古時科舉功名區分為：書僮、秀才、舉人、探花、榜眼、狀元、御品共七級，各級單價、香氣、喉潤有所差異，膨風茶之原料(茶芽)必須有一種昆蟲(小綠葉蟬，學名浮塵子)去吸允茶芽嫩葉，產生一種酵素作用，俗稱(著園)，因而改變了茶葉的元素：兒茶素大幅竄昇，茶多酚的改變→膨風茶呈現了濃濃的熟果香、淡淡的蜂蜜味。噴灑農藥(小綠葉蟬)就會死翹翹，所以膨風茶是絕對沒有噴過農藥的有機茶。
